Find the real killer....

For the most part, the police do a terrific job in difficult and trying circumstances.

Yet sometimes they get the bit between their teeth and won't let go. Such a case was that of Colin Stagg who did not murder Rachel Nickell on Wimbledon Common. After their disgusting honeytrap failed, they still pressed on with their belief he was guilty. When he was acquitted they blithely announced that they were not looking for anyone else - police speak for "We know he did it but that stupid court system blew it."

And lo and behold - a bit more detective work and the real killer is revealed.

Now the same things is happening with Barry George. One of the investigating police tells the News of the World today, "I HAVE to accept the result of the retrial—but I agreed with the first jury's verdict. We carried out a thorough investigation and eliminated all suspects apart from one—Barry George."

Give it up, he didn't do it.
