This is my second blog and it includes anything that want to sound off about - politics, humour, sport, television, films, newspapers, books, etc, etc. The first blog http://pauldonnelley.blogspot.com is purely about politics. Enjoy - and your feedback is always appreciated.

The police in Thames Valley really are getting younger looking...

Thames Valley Police Force has caused a storm by hiring two 16-year-olds as police community support officers (the so-called Blunkett's, or plastic, bobbies).

The two teenagers will be able to direct traffic but are not legally old enough to drive.

"We have recruited these people because they demonstrated the skills that we need," said a spokesman. "They bring experience of being able to interact with the public, especially young people. If you are good enough you are old enough."

Hmm, what do you think would be the response if someone aged 70 applied to join? "If you are good enough you are young enough."
