On Monday the Daily Express ran a feature about parents who spend a fortune on beauty treatments for their children.
One of the children featured was 12-year-old James Liley from Worthing, West Sussex. His mother, Sharon, spends £3,600 a year on skincare products for him.
Among her choice quotes:
“James’s passion for pampering started when he was about five. He’d use all my face creams, body lotions and shampoos… now he won’t leave the house unless his skin is glowing and his hair is perfectly coiffured. Every day he uses GHD hair straighteners, which cost over £100, and loves to use Toni & Guy’s Bed Head styling products.
“He has manicures and pedicures as well as a massage every week, too.Every month I spend about £300 on James’s beauty regime because he likes to use expensive moisturisers from Lancôme. But it’s obviously worth it because his skin is amazing. He rarely gets a spot and if he does he’ll cover it up with some concealer.
“James is a dancer and would like to dance professionally one day.
“His wardrobe is full of designer jeans and T-shirts from Armani and Ralph Lauren. We spend thousands every year on clothes for him because he likes to look fashionable.
“I’m very proud of how much care he takes over his appearance and I’m sure when he grows up his girlfriends will appreciate it, too.”
Something tells me that girlfriends won't be featuring very prominently in James’s life...
This is my second blog and it includes anything that want to sound off about - politics, humour, sport, television, films, newspapers, books, etc, etc. The first blog http://pauldonnelley.blogspot.com is purely about politics. Enjoy - and your feedback is always appreciated.

The most ridiculous fashion ever!
By far the silliest fashion of recent years is this ridiculous habit of men wearing their trousers slung low over their buttocks - which usually means the crotch is located somewhere around their knees.
I live near a Tube and police station and coming home a week or two back I saw three likely lads leaving the cop shop. As they walked down the steps one spotted a bus on the other side of the road. They made a run for it and two vaulted over the barrier that divides the road. The third wearing his trousers round his knees had to stop and pull up his trousers before he could jump the barrier and catch his bus.
What a prat!
Oh, how I laughed...
