Looking at a medical website recently it referred to a "midwife, health visitor, or breastfeeding counsellor".
Breastfeeding counsellor??
How on earth did we ever manage without all these interfering busybodies?
This is my second blog and it includes anything that want to sound off about - politics, humour, sport, television, films, newspapers, books, etc, etc. The first blog http://pauldonnelley.blogspot.com is purely about politics. Enjoy - and your feedback is always appreciated.

A cheesy tale...
Yesterday, the Sunday Mirror ran a story about Dairylea downsizing its cream cheese triangles (from 22.5g (that's 0.79 ounces to those of us who use British measures) to 22g (0.7 ounces) rather than putting the price up.
A spokesman that Dairylea was "just harmonising triangle weights across the range".
Hmm, strange that no one ever "harmonises" up, isn't it?

Save the privacy fights for genuine cases...
Yesterday Max Mosley won his privacy fight against the News of the World who revealed his spanking orgies.
I didn't read the original tales at the time and still haven't read them. I had no idea who Mr Mosley was.
Naturally, the News of the World was annoyed at losing the high profile and its sister paper The Sun has come out in its favour. In its leader column today The Sun bemoans the loss as a blow to freedom. It says, "Mr Justice Eady said our sister paper the News of the World had no right to tell its readers that the internationally famous head of Formula 1, Max Mosley had been at an orgy which the paper sincerely believed had a Nazi theme".
This is stretching matters slightly. The paper has about 3 million sales - I would be willing to bet that 2.99 million of the buyers had never heard of the "internationally famous... Max Mosley".
Mr Mosley is not famous and what he gets up to in private is no one's business but his own - and his wife and children.
And if the orgy had Nazi overtones, so what? If Mr Mosley's father had not been who he was, there would have been no mention of Nazism.

Writes and wrongs of Jordan's books
Yesterday, Jordan admitted that she doesn't write her own books. I thought everyone knew that - look at the copyright page of them and it mentions the name of Rebecca Farnsworth, the ghost.
A few weeks ago, I was on a train to Fenchurch Street and sitting near me were four middle-class girls. One of them said that she had read Jordan's latest and was surprised it was good. I wondered then why she was surprised - the book was written by a professional author after all... as indeed are the majority of celebrity books.

Mrs O takes umbrage...again
The ghastly Sharon Osbourne has exchanged a series of emails with comedian Jim Jeffries who called her daughter Kelly fat.
Perhaps it hit home harder than normal because recent pictures of Kelly without make-up show that she looks - unsurprisingly - just like her mum before all the plastic surgery.

Celebrity Spotting 3
Who should I share a lift with this morning at the Elephant and Castle tube station - completely unrecognised by everyone except me - but Lord Lawson, Mrs Thatcher's former chancellor.
One of the most powerful and influential men in Britain not that long ago... now reduced to sharing a lift with me.

Pull on the plimsolls, Vicky
Yesterday the Sunday Mirror ran a feature about celebrities who hate various bits of their bodies: Cameron Diaz's bum, Jessica Simpson's height, etc, etc.
Vicky Beckham was among the throng with an indirect quote that she wears stunning shoes to detract from her "horrid" feet.
Doesn't she realise that the stunning shoes call attention to her horrid feet? People look at the shoes and then think "Oh my God, what disgusting feet! With her money you'd think she'd do something about them."
If vacuous Vicky doesn't want people to look at her horrid feet, junk the shoes and may I suggest plimsolls?
