The Diana bandwagon rolls on...and on

On 31 August 1997 a woman and her boyfriend were killed when the car they were in, driven by a drunk, crashed in an underground tunnel in Paris.

Neither were wearing seat belts.

On Tuesday 2 October 2007 an inquest opened into the woman's death – it is expected to last six months and cost the British taxpayer £10million.

Why is this farrago allowed to go on?

Diana, Princess of Wales died because she was not wearing a seat belt and the driver of the car she was travelling in was driving too fast. That is the beginning and end of the story.

There was no assassination plot.

There was no MI6 involvement.

Prince Philip did not authorise a murder.

Diana was not pregnant.

Can we now please move on?
